App Store Optimization (ASO) is the process of improving your app’s visibility and conversion rates on App Store and Google Play. By optimizing elements such as keywords, titles, descriptions, and visual assets like app icons and screenshots, properly executed ASO strategies can increase your app’s presence on the stores, driving more organic downloads.
ASO is important because it leverages organic search traffic to increase your app’s visibility and attract high-quality users without the ongoing costs of paid advertising. Effective ASO, managed by a specialized ASO agency like ours, helps your app rank higher in search results, improves conversion rates from impressions to downloads, and provides a competitive edge in today's crowded app market.
Additionally, by increasing your conversion rates through ASO, the cost to acquire new users from paid advertising decreases, as higher conversion rates mean more efficient ad spend.
High-quality ASO is expensive, there’s no way around that. Senior ASO Managers are hard to find and can cost up to $100,000/year (excluding payroll taxes), and engaging a big app marketing agency is even more expensive. Lastly, while our competitors like to package their offerings per market and/or platform, which usually ends up being expensive if you’re looking to improve your ASO globally, and change pricing depending on your downloads (which is why none of them show their pricing on their websites), we like to keep it simple. In our subscription we cover both App Store and Google Play, and we’ll always start with your main market then proceed to optimize other markets later.
The audit is guaranteed within 30 days, including both Keyword Optimization and Screenshots Design deliverables, but typically, unless we’re covering more than one market, it’s delivered in 2-3 weeks.
After the ASO audit, we’ll present it to you and your team on a call and start some experiments, allowing you to see results even before month 1 of the subscription ends.
If you choose to renew the subscription, we’ll start month 2 by executing the high-priority items in the roadmap that came with the audit. The roadmap will be shared with you in a Notion Kanban board, and lays the foundation for our continued work in the coming months, giving you a clear overview of what’s to come.
Each month you’ll also get a report covering all things ASO related to your app, packed with up to 15 slides of high-quality analysis of your ASO metrics, traffic sources, app vitals, test results, new experiment suggestions, keyword rankings, and ratings/reviews. The monthly report, which is presented to you and your team on a call, also provides you with competitor insights so you can see what your competitors are up to on App Store and Google Play, and how your app is doing relative to the competition.
After the ASO audit which is delivered in 2-3 weeks, our goal is always to get some experiments started—giving you the chance to see some results even before month 1 of the subscription ends. However, these early results will be only indicative, as high-quality experiments usually need to run for at least 1-2 weeks.
So, while we’re determined to show you progress fast, the real benefit of our ASO service usually shows after we’ve implemented all our recommendations and gone through the full roadmap from the audit. We might see an increase in downloads right after the audit, but the purpose of our service is to improve all aspects of your ASO, stacking wins on top of each other and creating a steady increase in downloads over time.
No, our ASO agency’s service is a monthly subscription that you can cancel anytime. The idea behind our monthly subscription is to counter what everyone else is offering: 3 months+ contracts.
The reason why our competitors are so focused on getting you stuck in one of those contracts is because they know how hard it is to deliver high-quality work and results in short time.
But this is what we do, and the proof is in the pudding, so far none of our clients have paused or canceled their subscription after month 1. They’ve all continued working with us for month 2.
Once you sign up for the subscription, we’ll send over an onboarding form and instructions detailing what type of access we need to App Store Connect and/or Google Play Console. After that, unless any questions come up on our end, nothing else is required from your team.
Your only task will be to approve the recommendations we present, and then we’ll handle all implementation for you in the consoles. You will also get a dedicated ASO Designer with the subscription, so no design resources are needed on your end.
The only instance in which we’ll need your help is if we start implementing some of the more advanced strategies from the roadmap. E.g. rating prompt optimization requires your dev team to step in for an hour or two.
While we can't guarantee specific download numbers due to the many unpredictable factors involved in ASO, we guarantee that we'll go above and beyond to maximize your app's chances of generating more downloads.
Changes to keywords or screenshots don't always have a positive impact. However, with years of experience managing ASO for multiple category winners, we know that our keyword strategies work very well, and we’ll continuously run screenshot experiments for you until we find a winning formula for your app.
